About Us
Welcome, we are Meyaj-Mayab.shop, the website dedicated to link artisans of Yucatan with the proud new owners of their creations.
We are from Yucatan. And our goal is simple, create a fair-paid platform for the artisans of Yucatan.
This is not an easy task, we travel around all of Yucatan searching the creators of crafts, and sharing their history with all of you. We’re proud ambassadors of Mexico’s rich cultural heritage, championing local artisans whose creativity and craftsmanship have been passed down through generations.
Each piece in our collection is lovingly created by skilled hands, telling a unique story of history, identity, and passion.
The Yucatán Connection
Situated in the southeastern part of Mexico, the Yucatán Peninsula is home to a tapestry of vibrant colors, flavors, and folklore. From the picturesque colonial towns to the breathtaking cenotes, the region boasts a cultural mosaic shaped by Mayan and Spanish influence.
This rich heritage is profoundly reflected in the region’s crafts—each piece of pottery, textile, and wood carving echoes the voices and visions of generations past.
Our name
Meyaj Mayab, draws inspiration from the Mayan language, reflecting our deep connection to the region’s ancestral traditions and our commitment to preserving them.
“Meyaj” means “Work or Labor”, and “Mayab” is the original name of the Yucatan Peninsula. We want to share the proud work made with just their hands in Yucatan.
